Abstract

Entrepreneurial intentions to a large extent determine entrepreneurial behavior; therefore, the study of those intentions and the factors that influence them constitute a valid research area. Therefore, a study was conducted to know whether self-efficacy of the student, beliefs towards entrepreneurship and value towards entrepreneurship have an impact on intention for entrepreneurship. A questionnaire was distributed to 120 business management students of which 83 responded. SPSS 20 was used to study the effect of these independent variables on the dependent variable. Multiple regression was used. The variables of the study prove their relationship with intention towards becoming an entrepreneur. Positive coefficients imply they are positively affecting intention towards becoming an entrepreneur. Negative coefficient shows an inverse relation with intention towards becoming an entrepreneur. Therefore, ‘self-efficacy’, and value are influencing and affecting the self-efficacy and value positively. The model thus formulated explains 76% of the variance in the change or dependency of the independent variable on the dependent variable.
