Abstract

Purpose : The goal of the study was to highlight the services that Down-Town Venture Labs offered to help businesses in Assam grow. The study attempted to investigate the gap between the practices followed by incubation centers and the actual services received by their incubatees.

Methodology : The interview approach was employed, in which the incubator head and their incubatee entities were given questionnaires, and their answers were evaluated using a 5-point Likert rating scale. Furthermore, the Mann–Whitney U test was performed in the SPSS version 25.

Findings : The Down-Town Venture Labs successfully supplied its incubatee businesses with 10 of the 11 services. However, their ability to offer networking opportunities and legal services was lacking. The Mann–Whitney U test revealed no appreciable variations between incubator–incubatee responses about the services provided ; hence, resulting in the efficient growth of entrepreneurs in the region.

Practical Limitations : This scholarly article will be beneficial for various stakeholders and policymakers in creating jobs and various economic opportunities across the nation, thereby enabling network and relationship-building with the incubators and entrepreneurial units.

Originality : Unlike prior research on business incubation and entrepreneurship, the present study aimed at analyzing the service delivery gap of the select incubator to its incubatees through a non-parametric statistical test.
